• Born on March 15th, 1943 in Köslin (Germany);
  • After completing High School in 1962 six months stay in Finland as Au Pair, followed by a training in several newspaper offices; since 1965 sub-editor with Associated Press (AP) and the Protestant News Agency (epd) in Frankfurt/Main;
  • 1981-1989 Studies in Sociology at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt/Main; Diploma (equal to a Master-Degree) in Sociology; language course at the Central Institute of Hindi in New Delhi;
  • Many years of service, voluntary as well as full time, for the Association of binational Families and Partnerships (Verband binationaler Familien und Partnerschaften – iaf) and the Indian Cultural Institute in Frankfurt/Main.
  • Worked for several years as a freelance course instructor and trainer in intercultural communication and related subject, for example at the Volkshochschule Frankfurt.

Our main residence is in Germany, but since 1993 we regularly spend part of the year at our second residence in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India.
